Author Guidelines

Please read and follow these guidelines carefully prior to submitting your manuscript to Samma Ajiva: Journal of Business and Management.





1. General Requirements



  • Language: The manuscript must be written in proper English. Articles should reflect topics in Business, Management, and Buddhist Perspectives, covering empirical research outcomes, field research, or literary/conceptual studies.

  • Formatting: The manuscript must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc / .docx), typed on A4 paper size, with single spacing, using Book Antiqua font, size 12 pt.

  • Length: The total length of the manuscript should be between 3,000 to 7,000 words.

  • Submission: Manuscripts must be submitted online via the journal portal at Online Submission System by registering as an Author.

  • Tables and Figures: Tables and figures must have titles, clear sequential numbering, and explicit source citations. They should be typed in single spacing and presented in black and white format.





2. Manuscript Structure


Research manuscripts should be organized in the following order:



  1. Title: Maximum of 14 words. It should be clear, concise, informative, and avoid abbreviations.

  2. Author Name(s) & Affiliation: Written without academic degrees, positioned directly below the title along with the institution's name. For team-written manuscripts, the corresponding author must clearly provide their institutional email address.


  3. Abstract & Keywords:

    • Abstract: 150–250 words outlining the research aim, methods, and key findings.

    • Keywords: 3–5 words or phrases.



  4. Introduction: Contains the general background, literature review (if applicable), research gap, hypothesis, and research question. The objective of the study must be stated explicitly at the end of this section.

  5. Methods: Elaborates on the research design, data collection, analytical tools, reliability, validity, and methodological steps taken to address the research problem.

  6. Results: Clear explanation of what was discovered/found in detail using text, tables, and figures.

  7. Discussion: Interprets the findings, compares them with existing literature, and explains how they answer the research question stated in the introduction.

  8. Conclusion: Summarizes the main findings directly addressing the research objectives/hypothesis without repeating details from Results and Discussion. Include practical/theoretical suggestions for future research.

  9. References: List of all cited sources in alphabetical order.





3. Citation & Reference Formatting (APA Style)



  • All cited works in the text must be listed in the Reference section, and vice versa. Uncited works will be removed by the editor.

  • At least 80% of references must be from primary sources (scientific journal articles) published within the last 10 years. The remaining 20% may consist of books, dissertations, thesis, or official reports.

  • References must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) Style (arranged alphabetically from A to Z).

4. Editorial Policies & Copyright



  • Review Process: All manuscripts are reviewed anonymously (double-blind peer review) by experts appointed by the editor. Review decisions are communicated via email.

  • Copyediting: The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit typography, spelling, layout, and grammar without changing the substantive content.

  • Legal & Copyright Responsibility: Full responsibility for copyright compliance, software usage, image licensing, and citation accuracy rests solely with the author(s).

  • Unpublished Manuscripts: Manuscripts that are rejected or unpublished will not be returned to the author.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
