Abstract


This study aims to identify the tendency of narcissistic disorders in students of Sriwjaya State Buddhist College Tangerang Banten as the impact of social media and its interactions for appropriate guidance and counseling services.

The research was conducted using a quantitative approach in the form of a survey research method with explanatory research. This is based on the consideration that the study was conducted to obtain facts from the symptoms that appear and to seek factual information about the behavior of narcissistic personality disorder as the impact of social media on students at Sriwjaya State Buddhist College Tangerang Banten by using the Personality Inventory Narcissistic questionnaire.

The results showed that the tendency of narcissistic personality disorder of students at Sriwjaya State Buddhist College Tangerang Banten, was in the moderate category with a percentage of 44%, namely as many as 77 people who could not be interpreted in a safe position, because narcissistic behavior in students may increase along with the influence of rapid technological developments. information and communication.

Efforts to overcome it must be carried out in a comprehensive and sustainable manner, one of which is the provision of guidance and counseling services that are primary prevention, which leads to individual analysis regarding the factors causing narcissistic behavior disorders. Next is preventive guidance and counseling services, which are oriented towards cognitive-behavioral therapy (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), which refers to efforts to raise students' awareness of their academic and duties as students in higher education. Finally, guidance and counseling provides alternative problem solving services for students with narcissistic personality disorder tendencies by means of individual self-understanding on optimal developmental tasks to form ideal student personality characters.
